Every DJ makes mistakes while mixing. Some of them are correctable and can go unnoticed by listeners. Others cannot. Hitting the wrong Play/Pause button during your mix can not only disrupt the mix itself but also kill the energy that you had built up. Thankfully you can fix mix-destroying mistakes when you’re recording mixes for your friends or an online podcast. The key to successfully fixing a mistake is to start a new recording and replay the track with the mistake in it. It is simply a matter of splicing the two recordings together after you have finished your second recording. We use Ableton Live in this video, but you can use this method in any DAW.
