Meet Peter
Hi, this is Peter from The DJ Podcast. Yep, that’s me you hear when you watch one of my videos. When I started DJing in 2005 MIDI controllers were almost non-existent, turntables were still being heavily used, and there were no video tutorials online for new DJs to watch. The launch of YouTube changed everything. I started making video tutorials alongside others like Johnathon “The DJ Tutor”, Brian S Redd, and Trevor Nygaard. Unfortunately the screen capture software at the time wasn’t great and the videos were very low quality.
In 2009 I started The DJ Podcast. The timing seemed right as new software and YouTube’s HD video streaming had made it easier than ever to create and share high quality video tutorials. Since then I have created over 200 video tutorials, been interviewed multiple times, and had my videos featured on the front page of a couple company websites. What I enjoy the most about The DJ Podcast is interacting with you, the viewer. Whether you leave a comment or tweet me, you are the reason why I do what I do.
Going forward I want to focus on making The DJ Podcast the best learning experience for DJs of all skill levels. You won’t find the same marketing press releases for the newest piece of DJ gear. Video tutorials are the bread and butter of The DJ Podcast. Each video focuses on a very specific topic and is straight to the point so you don’t have to sit around waiting for “the good part”. We currently have over 200 video tutorials on our website and are constantly adding new ones. Our tutorial archives let you browse by date, software, and focus so you can easily find what you are looking for.
Live Streams
Live stream events on Mixify and YouTube are a combination of live instruction and mixing. Each stream starts with a tutorial session on a specific topic and ends with a a live DJ mix. Attendees are encouraged to participate in the chat and ask questions to be answered during the question and answer portion of the event.
